#1 Angelus French Carriage Clock
Hello again. Hopefully you are all staying safe out there at the moment. .
Today I am going to service this Carriage Clock and fully restore the brass case as well, I will coat the brass to slow down oxidation of time .
The movement is French with a platform escapement. These are just a lovely simple time pieces to work on.
No strike are chiming to hold me up so it was just a enjoyable service .
Alot of work as you could imagine went I to the case. And when all was competed I tested the clock on the time grapher. .
Even though the clock will stay in a upright position. I treated it like a watch being put though its different movements.
This reassured me that the platform was in the correct position..
Hopefully you will enjoy looking at some of the stages Thankyou so much for looking. Buy for now.

#1. Elliott double quarter chiming clock.
Here we have on the bench a wonderful movement from a great maker / company.
The movement has a platform escapement. This is a great benefit not only with timing issues but not having to set the clock on beat.
Each part will be examined closely and pivots polished along with any other work that may have to be completed..
Sorry about my poor video work but I promise to susprize you buy making a full one. Soon.

Testimonials
I recently asked Jon to repair and service a grandfather clock made by my great grandfather in 1885 in Helston Cornwall. He has done a superb job and the clock is now running faultlessly and the face and hands have been cleaned and look brand new. We are delighted to hear the hourly chimes and the timeless tic toc. It is keeping perfect time after the complete rebuild. I would highly recommend the workmanship of Jon in Orchard Clocks.

John completely refurbished my clock and I was very happy with the results , I was kept up to date step by step by John as he worked at my clock with reassurances and progress reports. He is now working his magic on two more clocks for me. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Very professional service in repairing our old clock, John goes the extra mile to ensure the clock is properly set up. Clock hasn't missed a beat since repair, you would think it was a quartz instead of a 100 year old movement.
Many thanks.Keith
I am delighted with the expert way in which Jon has restored my grandmother's Victorian (c1900) slate and marble mantle clock. I can never remember it going but Jon painstakingly took every piece of it apart and cleaned everything thoroughly, repaired what was broken, and polished and renewed the external case and decoration. It now has pride of place on our mantelpiece and keeps perfect time. I commend Jon for his meticulous work and thank him for his pleasant and efficient service.
